Still in North Carolina - Nov 17th, 2011

We have had some long days getting "Aye Sea No Snow" ready for the trip south.
After the long drive out from Minneosta, we unloaded the van, rented a car, took the van in for brake repairs and then headed out to Bed Bath and Beyond for bedding.  This a pic of Missy with her new pillow.  After dark we headed out to town for more supplies. We hauled a lot of stuff off the boat we did not want including a fold out sofa bed that had to be taken apart to get out the door.

We were up early on Tuesday to put the sofa bed back together so maybe someone would like it enough to take it home and away from the marina. Then Eric, the mechanic that had surveyed the motors, showed up and we started exhaust system repairs.
Missy worked on cleaning and stocking.

A huge barge came down river during the day right past our boat.

After the mechanic left, Missy and I worked on getting the old name off so we could rename her.  We had dinner with Terry and Pam Rose (Terry is the broker I purchased the boat from) at a very nice restaurant in Wilmington.  There are a very nice couple and it was a pleasant evening.

Wed morning we finished getting "The Doghouse" off both sides and the transom.  With great joy we applied "Aye Sea No Snow" by 10AM just in time for the mechanic to show up again for motor maintenance.  Thanks to John Foley we have beautiful lettering hailing our name and quest to all we meet.

Changed oil in both motors, both gearboxes, and the genset.  Next project was to replace the fuel filters.  Then Eric fixed a problem on the genset he had discovered earlier.  Missy continued her quest to tidy the boat.

Just as Eric finished up, it started to storm but we were snug as a bug in our new home.

It was till stormy on Thur so did not get a lot done.  One of the guys from Bennett Brothers Yachts ran a new power cord for me so I could hook up a satellite dish that will track a satellite for Direct TV from the boat.  We had a little problem with a clogged head in the aft cabin and then a broken valve on the forward head.  A couple of trips to West Marine and Home Depot solved the problem.

We spent some time with one of our neighbors here in the marina that have a 60 foot Senlene Yacht.  Dwayne and Janet are from Alabama.  Dwayne gave us a tour of his new $2,000,000.00 yacht that they have owned for 2 years and are almost finished with details.  They might head off to England in the spring.  Lots of nice people in marinas but a lot of people are heading south in the next few days.

We hope to be out of here on Friday. Stay tuned.
